These Terms of Service govern your use of WattKit. By downloading, installing, or using WattKit, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using WattKit ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms apply to all users of WattKit, including:

  • EV shoppers researching vehicle costs
  • Current EV owners tracking journey expenses
  • Anyone using the App's calculators, comparisons, or widgets

2. Description of Service

WattKit provides tools to:

  • Calculate journey costs: Estimate the cost of driving an electric vehicle based on distance, efficiency, and charging rates.
  • Compare vehicles: Side-by-side cost comparisons for up to 5 EVs.
  • Predict battery degradation: Estimate future range and costs based on battery chemistry and age.
  • Track charging rates: Manage home, work, and public charging costs.
  • Calculate savings: Compare EV costs against petrol/diesel equivalents.

All calculations are performed locally on your device. WattKit does not require internet connectivity to function.

3. Accuracy Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: WattKit provides estimates for informational purposes only.

While we strive for accuracy, WattKit's calculations are estimates based on:

  • User-provided data (efficiency, charging rates, distance)
  • Industry-standard battery degradation models
  • Regional default values for charging costs
  • Assumptions about driving conditions (temperature, speed, terrain)

Actual costs may vary due to factors including but not limited to:

  • Real-world driving conditions (weather, traffic, driving style)
  • Electricity rate fluctuations and tariff structures
  • Vehicle-specific efficiency variations
  • Battery degradation patterns unique to your usage
  • Changes in regional taxes or fees (e.g., UK's eVED road tax)

WattKit is not a substitute for professional financial advice. Always verify costs with official sources before making purchasing or financial decisions.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate data: Enter correct vehicle efficiency, battery capacity, and charging rates.
  • Verify assumptions: Review regional defaults (charging rates, degradation models) and adjust them to match your situation.
  • Use responsibly: Understand that estimates are for guidance only and may not reflect actual costs.
  • Comply with laws: Use WattKit in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Respect intellectual property: Do not reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute WattKit.

You acknowledge that WattKit's usefulness depends on the accuracy of the data you provide.

5. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

  • Download and install WattKit on devices you own or control.
  • Use WattKit for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • Access all features included in your purchase (one-time £2.99 payment).

You may NOT:

  • Redistribute, resell, or sublicense WattKit.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
  • Use WattKit for commercial purposes without written permission.
  • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices.

6. Payment Terms

WattKit is a paid app available for a one-time purchase of £2.99 (or local currency equivalent) via the Apple App Store.

  • No subscriptions: WattKit is a one-time purchase with no recurring fees.
  • Refunds: Managed by Apple per their refund policy. Contact Apple Support for refund requests.
  • Family Sharing: If enabled via Apple, your purchase may be shared with family members per Apple's Family Sharing terms.
  • Free updates: Future updates and features are included at no additional cost.

Apple processes all payments. We do not store or have access to your payment information.

7. Intellectual Property

WattKit and all related content, features, and functionality are owned by Kukkdi Ltd and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • App design, user interface, and user experience
  • Calculation algorithms and methodologies
  • Regional default data (charging rates, degradation models)
  • Logos, branding, and marketing materials
  • App icons, widgets, and complications

You retain ownership of data you create (vehicle profiles, custom rates), but grant us no rights to access or use it (as per our Privacy Policy).

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • WattKit is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We do not guarantee that WattKit will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.
  • We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of WattKit.
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for WattKit (£2.99).

Specific Disclaimers:

  • We are not responsible for financial losses resulting from inaccurate cost estimates.
  • We are not liable for vehicle purchasing decisions made based on WattKit's comparisons.
  • We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure, iCloud issues, or user error.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so these limitations may not apply to you.

9. Third-Party Services

WattKit integrates with:

  • Apple CloudKit: For optional iCloud sync. Governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.
  • Apple App Store: For distribution and payment processing.
  • TelemetryDeck: For anonymized analytics and crash reporting. Governed by TelemetryDeck's terms and privacy policy. Uses salted hashing to ensure data is anonymized before transmission.

We are not responsible for the performance, privacy practices, or terms of these third-party services. All services used are privacy-focused and do not collect personal information.

10. Regional Compliance

WattKit provides regional defaults for charging rates, currencies, and road taxes (e.g., UK's eVED). These defaults:

  • Are approximations based on publicly available data as of January 2026.
  • May become outdated due to policy changes or rate adjustments.
  • Should be verified and customized by users for accuracy.

You are responsible for ensuring WattKit's use complies with local laws in your jurisdiction.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be communicated via:

  • In-app notification when you launch WattKit after an update.
  • Update to the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
  • Note in the App Store release notes.

Continued use of WattKit after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with changes, discontinue use of the App.

12. Termination

You may terminate your use of WattKit at any time by deleting the App from your device.

We reserve the right to:

  • Discontinue WattKit at any time (though we have no current plans to do so).
  • Revoke your license if you violate these Terms.
  • Update or modify features in future versions.

Upon termination, all licenses granted to you will immediately cease. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., intellectual property, limitation of liability) shall remain in effect.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of WattKit shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
